Colne Market Hall and the town’s three theatres have joined forces to showcase their improved facilities and provide something extra for their customers.
The market hall, The Muni Theatre, Pendle Hippodrome and The Little Theatre received £6.5m Government funding.
The money was used on much-needed improvement and repair works to restore the three theatres to their former glory and create ‘The Heritage Quarter’.
Colne Market Hall has been refurbished with improved space for market traders and the introduction of event space and food stalls.
Now they are working together to support and promote each other.
Theatre-goers can get a 10% discount on pre and post–theatre food and drinks at Colne Market Hall.
The four venues are cross-selling to offer more to Pendle residents, attract new visitors to the town and boost the local economy.
Councillor Asjad Mahmood, Leader of Pendle Borough Council, said: “It’s wonderful to see these Colne businesses collaborating to help each other thrive.
“The Government funding has enabled some amazing improvement works to take place in Colne, which we are very proud of and want to shout about.
“Together they will be able to showcase the venues to their full potential, which will not only be great for the town, but also for residents and visitors alike.”
Elaine Whittingham, Colne Market Hall Manager, said: “We are delighted to be developing this new working relationship; and going forward we have lots planned to help each other grow and thrive.
“We will be sharing marketing, information and collaborating on further joint ventures.
“These will include offering a free showcase for the theatres’ youth groups in our event space; welcoming visits from the cast of The Muni Theatre’s panto and showing The Little Theatre’s 100th Anniversary celebratory showreel.”
Jonathan Bowdin, Operations Manager at The Muni Theatre, added: "Having all benefited from the Levelling Up funding, we’re now in a stronger position than ever to give people even more reasons to visit Colne, whether that’s for entertainment, food, drink or simply a great day out!
“We’re all working towards the same goal: making Colne a vibrant, welcoming town that people want to visit and come back to again and again."
