Colne Neighbourhood Plan

What's happening?

On Monday 26 October 2020, Colne Town Council issued its draft Neighbourhood Plan for public consultation. The deadline for receipt of comments has been extended from Monday 14 December 2020 until 5pm on Friday 8 January 2021.

What has happened so far...

Colne Town Council submitted a formal written notification to Pendle Council stating its intention to prepare a neighbourhood plan on 7 October 2016. 

A public consultation was held between Friday 14 October and Friday 11 November 2016 giving people a chance to consider and comment on the proposed boundary for the Neighbourhood Plan area. Nine responses were received by the Council to the consultation with the majority supporting the designation of the plan area. The comments are available to view below.  

At the meeting of the Council's Executive on Thursday 17 November 2016 it was resolved that the Town Council area for Colne be designated as a Neighbourhood Area for the purposes of Neighbourhood Planning. The public notice confirming the designation can be viewed below.

Colne Town Council carried out an informal consultation on thier draft Neighbourhood Plan during May and June 2018. The Town Council has considered the comments it recieved in response to the public consultation. These have helped to inform the draft policies and the selection of sites for future development set out in regulation 14 draft Neighbourhood Plan.
