Colne Neighbourhood Plan

What's happening?

Colne Town Council carried out an informal consultation on the draft Neighbourhood Plan during May and June 2018. The Town Council is now considering the responses to the consultation and will make any necessary changes to the plan before consulting again. Further details can be found on the Colne Town Council website.

What has happened so far...

Colne Town Council has submitted a formal written notification to Pendle Council stating its intention to prepare a neighbourhood plan. 

A public consultation was held between Friday 14 October 2016 and Friday 11 November 2016 giving people a chance to consider and comment on the proposed boundary for the neighbourhood plan area. Nine responses were received by the Council to the consultation with the majority supporting the designation of the plan area. The comments are available to view below.  

At the meeting of the Council's Executive on Thursday 17 November 2016 it was resolved that the Town Council area for Colne be designated as a Neighbourhood Area for the purposes of Neighbourhood Planning. The public notice confirming the designation can be viewed below.

The Town Council can now start the formal process of preparing a Neighbourhood Plan.
