Trainee Application Support Engineer

Salary: £8,000 to £12,000

Location: Homeworker

Contract type: Full time, permanent

We have an opportunity for the right candidate to join our team as a Trainee application support engineer. Supporting and maintaining Liberata’s Applications. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the applications day to day, ensuring that the systems are up, upgrades and patches are tested and installed correctly, and interfaces are working etc. You will also liaise with other technical teams, customers and third-party suppliers to ensure continuity of service. Full training will be provided.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Investigation/resolution of faults within the applications to ensure smooth operation of the systems
  • Maintain systems availability during core operating hours
  • Manage and maintain IT resources that may be required by 3rd parties over seeing successful workload transfers
  • Monitoring of applications’ performance and advising of any improvements
  • Take ownership of relevant service calls for the specific applications that the engineer is responsible for.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • The ability to work towards achieving ITIL foundation
  • Able to maintain records & understand reports effectively; identifying problems and taking action where necessary 
  • Able to keep focussed, even when activities and plans have to be changed at the last minute 
  • To follow policies and procedures effectively for the job

ICT Service Desk Analyst Apprentice

Salary: £7,984 - £12,409

Location: East Lancashire - Burnley

Contract type: Full time, permanent

We have an opportunity for the right candidate to join our team as an ICT Service Desk Analyst Apprentice. Working to solve problems at first contact where possible for all infrastructure, operational and corporate application services and systems. Providing second line support for all endpoint device issues.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To be the first point of contact into ICT for all channels between the hours of 8:00 to 17:30, on a rota basis, ensuring all contacts are logged & maintained accurately and managing customer’s expectations of incident fix times
  • To work towards achieving customer targets for IT performance, via remote desktop access and occasionally visiting site
  • Maintaining communication with all relevant parties, where appropriate
  • Follow procedures in accordance with ITIL practice where needed
  • Undertake any duties assigned from the Service Requests, Incident Management, and Change Control under supervision
  • As first line support it is essential to build rapport with customers to offer an excellent customer service
