Lancashire Hotspots is a regular feature in Lancashire Business View magazine which examines the county’s hottest spots for commerce, industry and regeneration and our next stop is Pendle.
Pendle has the largest concentration of employment in manufacturing in England after transforming its post-industrial economy into a major UK economic powerhouse – we’ll take a look at what impact #PendlePower is having.
We’ll also delve into the latest developments in the area including how Pendle Council’s Gearing up for Growth programme is supporting business in the area plus updates on the planned extension of Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, the redevelopment of Northlight (formerly Brierfield Mill) and junction improvements being made on the M65.
We’ll look at what opportunities all of this brings and discuss hot topics such as skills, investment, ambition and collaboration. There’ll be lots to learn and discuss!
The event will be a question time-style panel debate featuring leading business and public sector guests. There will also be plenty of opportunity to network with the movers and shakers of the area over breakfast plus interaction with the panel during Q&A.
Confirmed panel members include:
- Dennis Mendoros OBE, chairman, Euravia and Pendle Vision Board
- Amanda Melton, Principal, Nelson and Colne College
- Simon Norton, digital marketing manager, cottages.com
We’ll also hear from Dean Langton, strategic director at Pendle Borough Council for an update on the day. The event, which will link with the Lancashire Hotspots feature in the November / December edition of Lancashire Business View magazine, will shout about what is happening in Pendle.
