You can now search and view current and some historic planning applications online (1993 to current date).

Online Planning Application Archive

Tips on using the Online Planning Application Archive:-

  • You will need one of the following pieces of information planning application number, name of applicant, street name, postcode, date range (Click on the link to Tips below for guidance)

  • To view the Weekly Lists, enter the relevant dates into the "Date Registered/Validated" field

  • To view the Decision List, enter the relevant dates into the Decision Date field

  • To view Appeals Pending Decision, search on the Decision Type field using "Appeal Pending Planning" and/or "Appeal Against Enforcement" from the picklist

Additionally, you can view historic maps showing application sites outlined in red with reference numbers.

Submitting Comments

You can submit your comments on applications within 21 days from the date of the notification letters to neighbours, press notice and/or site notice whichever is the latest to be published.

Also, planning applications can be view at Nelson Town Hall or at the nearest Local Office/Council Shop to the proposed development where one exists e.g. Brierfield , Colne, Barnoldswick , and Earby for a period of 21 days commencing from the date of notification letters being posted.

Representations may be made in writing to the Planning Department, online via the Planning Application Archive or via email to planning@pendle.gov.uk 

Please Note: all online comments and letters of objection to planning applications will be viewable on the internet. Download a pdf version of Guidance Notes for Making Comments on Planning Applications.

In the case of an appeal all comments received for an application will be forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate. Where an appeal is to be dealt with via the expedited Householder Appeals Service there will not be any further opportunity to make comments on the application.
