Pendle Council’s joint venture company with local contractor and developer Barnfield Construction called Pendle Enterprise And Regeneration Ltd (PEARL) is on site at Carry Lane, Colne working on a new £6.1 million housing development.

Tim Webber, Managing Director of Barnfield and PEARL board member, explained: “Through PEARL we’re building 33 new three and four bedroom detached and semi-detached family homes at Carry Lane.

“The new homes will have gardens and countryside views and there’ll be bungalows for elderly people.

“The Carry Lane development will be finished in 2018 and will include an attractive green space between between homes on Broken Banks and the new housing."

PEARL is building 12 new bungalows on the upper part of the site for the Peter Birtwistle Trust which provides supported accommodation for elderly Colne residents.

The new homes will form an extension to their existing bungalow scheme on Peter Birtwistle Close and should be ready in March 2018.

And in Brierfield, work is well underway at Clitheroe Road, Brierfield for another PEARL housing project where Barnfield Construction is  building a £6.7 million development called Foxhills.

The first phase, building two and three bedroom bungalows and three bedroom semi-detached homes, is due for completion later this year.

“Foxhills has stunning views out to Pendle and is close to PEARL’s flagship project Northlight at Brierfield Mill,” said Councillor Iqbal.

Gareth Smith, Project Manager at Barnfield Construction added: “This new development will be in a great position between town and country, next to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal with excellent commuting links only minutes away.”

Other developments in Pendle include Together Housing’s development to build nine houses and six bungalows for affordable rent at White Grove near Alkincoats Park, Colne and at Briercliffe Avenue in Colne.
