Help Yourself to the new A Pocket Full of Help
Published Tuesday 2nd March 10
Pendle Council’s Neighbourhood Management team has produced an updated version of its popular A Pocket Full of Help Guide.
The 2010 Guide is being launched at a series of events across Pendle.
Neighbourhood Management staff will be out and about handing out copies in Colne Market on March 3rd from 11am.
On March 4th they'll be at Brierfield Library at 11am and then out and about in the town.
Copies have also been handed out at Nelson Library.
The distinctive pocket sized guide contains useful contact details and information about issues affecting everyone's life.
Topics covered include health, money matters, housing and where to report common problems such as rubbish being dumped or noise nuisance.
The Guides also include information about how to join Pendle's Neighbourhood Action Groups.
The Guide will also be available from community and leisure centres across Pendle.
George Brown, a Neighbourhood Management Assistant Community Development Officer, said: "Services in the guide have been updated to reflect what Pendle people wanted to see."
He added: "The Guides are a great way of promoting services which people might not even be aware of. Hopefully the convenient size of the Guide means it'll always be handy for them to access information and services."
Councillor Sonia Robinson, executive member for Housing Regeneration on Pendle Council, said: "It's vital for residents to get easy access to all the services that are available. This is a very handy item to put in your purse, bag or pocket."
