Pendle Council is investing £24,200 into the company through No Limits Finance for Growth Project.

And ACDC is ploughing £24,350 into the new machinery which will create 6.5 jobs.

The Finance for Growth Project helps secure vital cash to support qualifying businesses within Pennine Lancashire

Since April 2009 the total investment in Pendle is a staggering £186,976, which will create 47 jobs and will safeguard 29.

Councillor Allan Buck, who has lead responsibility for Economic Development, said: "Once again we're delighted to announce our support to a local company which is investing in its future."

ACDC Lighting is a market leader in the design and manufacture of lighting technologies.

It works closely with the world's top architects and lighting designers on many prestigious projects.

Recent works include the Burj KhalifaTower in Dubai - the world's tallest building - and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona .

David Horsfield, Managing Director of ACDC, said: "Our industry is totally unique which means off the shelf machinery is not available for our type of manufacturing

"The grant is helping us to fund the design and build of a machine that automatically curves glass tubes to match the contour of the building we're lighting.

"Up to now the lamp curving function has been done by hand which is time consuming and creates a bottle neck in our operation.

"With this additional capacity we'll be in a position to meet demand and take on multiple large contracts.

"At the same time it'll help us to double our business by 2012, strengthening our position as one of the area's largest employers."

Lynne Hargreaves-Walker, Finance for Growth Project Manager, explained: "No Limits received £30m in government funding to promote enterprise and business growth within Pennine Lancashire.

"We're anticipating additional funding for 2010/11, so if you're an existing Pendle business and need help to grow, please call us on 901282) 661779."

Councillor Buck added: "Finance for Growth is just one of the schemes we're running to help businesses grow and create new jobs - there's plenty more help and advice if you need it.
