Application forms for the prestigious Pendle Business Awards 2010 are now live!
Between Monday January 11th and Friday February 5th you can enter for an award online on www.pendle.gov.uk or www.pendlevision.org
This year the awards will recognise the borough's innovative local companies, which despite the pressures of the credit crunch are still flourishing
Councillor Allan Buck, who has responsibility for Economic Development and is on the judging panel, said: "There are 11 categories to choose from.
"Whether you're a micro company with a specialist trade, a growing small to medium-sized business or a large company with a worldwide reputation, there'll be a category for you.
"And you can enter all the awards that you fit the criteria for!"
Pendle's first ever Business Awards in 2008 had all the glitz and glamour of The Oscars, showcasing the best of the borough's businesses.
And Pendle Council and Pendle Vision, which are jointly organising this year's event, are working hard to make sure it's even bigger and better.
Dennis Mendoros, OBE, DL, FRAeS is Chairman of Pendle Vision and Managing Director of Euravia Engineering and Supply Co Ltd.
He explained: "Pendle Business Awards 2010 will recognise the best of Pendle's high achievers, so if you have something to shout about then we want to hear from you!
"We have a lot of very successful companies in Pendle which deserve recognition and we want all types of businesses to enter."
Companies eligible to apply for an award will have achieved:
- an improved business performance
- better staff motivation and training
- development of new products, processes or markets
- savings by improved energy efficiency or waste management
- improved relationships with customers and the community.
Those shortlisted by the judging panel will join a select group of Pendle's most successful businesses.
All shortlisted companies will be invited to attend a dinner, at the Arts, Culture and Enterprise (ACE) Centre in Nelson, on April 23rd.
And winners will receive a Pendle - an elegant glass and metal sculpture inspired by Pendle Hill, engraved with their name and the award category. And all shortlisted businesses will receive a framed certificate.
