Since the Arts, Community and Enterprise (ACE) Centre opened its doors it’s proved a big hit with visitors.

Based in Cross Street, Nelson, the Centre has now been open for six months and it's already had 100,000 visitors!Kirsty Rose, ACE Centre Manager, is thrilled with the number of people who come to the Centre.

She said: "We work hard to provide something for all the community and our footfall counter is proof that people keep coming back for more!

"Our facilities really are some of the best in Lancashire and we have a diverse programme for people of all ages and backgrounds.

"Next year there'll be even more live music, children's theatre, comedy, plays and films!"

Councillor John David, Leader of Pendle Council, is delighted with the facilities that the £6.5m ACE Centre brings to Pendle.

He said; "The Centre was developed in response to residents identifying a need for a new community facility for leisure and social pursuits.

"I'm delighted to say it does that and even more.

"It's the biggest and best thing to happen in Nelson for decades and it easily rivals entertainments facilities in nearby cities.

"If you haven't been yet, you really are missing out!"

Phil Storey, Chief Executive of Pendle Leisure Trust which runs the ACE Centre, added:

"When we first came up with the idea of the ACE Centre, we really wanted to create a venue with a difference with something for everyone.

"And I'm confident we've been able to do just that.

"To make sure we continue to meet the needs of those who use it we're inviting people to tell us what they want to see in our programme.

"So if there's something you'd like to see happening here please let us know by contacting Kirsty on (01282) 661080 or e-mailing info@acecentre.co.uk"

Kirsty added: "Those who visit the Centre, either for events, exhibitions or the bistro, tell us they really enjoy coming.

"But our challenge is to get even more people to take their first step inside and start taking advantage of what we have to offer."
