Pendle’s first ever Business Awards was so successful it’s back. And this time it’s going to be even bigger and better!
The prestigious event in 2008 had all the glitz and glamour of The Oscars and showcased the best of the borough's businesses.
Pendle Business Awards 2010, organised jointly by Pendle Vision and Pendle Council, will recognise our innovative local companies which despite the pressures of the credit crunch are still flourishing.
Companies eligible to apply will have achieved:
- an improved business performance
- better staff motivation and training
- development of new products, processes or markets
- savings by improved energy efficiency or waste management
- improved relationships with customers and the community.
Dennis Mendoros, OBE, DL, FRAeS is Chairman of Pendle Vision and Managing Director of Euravia Engineering and Supply Co Ltd.
He explained: "Pendle Business Awards 2010 will recognise the best of Pendle's high achievers, so if you have something to shout about then we want to hear from you!
"We have a lot of very successful companies in Pendle which deserve recognition and we want all types of businesses to enter.
"There are 11 categories to choose from. Whether you're a micro company with a specialist trade, a growing small to medium-sized business or a large company with a worldwide reputation, there'll be a category for you.
"And you can enter all the awards that you fit the criteria for."
Councillor Allan Buck, who has responsibility for Economic Development, will be on the judging panel.
He added: "This year the awards ceremony will be held at the Arts, Culture and Enterprise (ACE) Centre in Nelson on April 23 and will once again be a very prestigious evening.
"Those shortlisted will join a select group of Pendle's most successful businesses.
"Winners will receive a Pendle - an elegant glass and metal sculpture inspired by Pendle Hill, engraved with their name and the award category. And all shortlisted businesses will receive a framed certificate."
Between January 11 and February 5 businesses will be able to apply for awards online on http://www.pendle.gov.uk/businessawards or http://www.pendlevision.org/
Information about Pendle Business Awards 2010 will be available on these websites from December 1.
The judges will shortlist entries in February and visit the successful businesses in March so entrants can present their case for winning an award.
All shortlisted companies will be invited to attend a dinner, at the Arts, Culture and Enterprise (ACE) Centre in Nelson, on April 23.
Award sponsors will announce the winners and present trophies in a glittering Oscars-style ceremony.
