It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas - at Nelson and Colne markets!

Published Wednesday 7th December 11

Ho, ho, ho! Father Christmas will be spreading the festive cheer in Nelson and Colne market halls each Saturday between now and Christmas.

Catch him in his Colne grotto from 12 noon until 2.00pm and in Nelson from 12 noon until 1.30pm and 2.00pm until 3.15pm on 10th and 17th December.

Look out for him on Christmas Eve too, when he'll be touring the markets, bringing joy to young and old!

Ian Varley, Pendle Council's Markets Manager, said:

"The grottos are for children aged 7 and under, accompanied by a parent or guardian.

"Entry is free and each child will receive a small gift.

"In return, you will have the option to make a small donation to charity.

"So come along and join in the fun - and don't forget to bring your letter to Santa - he promises to respond to every single one!"

Colne Market will be collecting for Pendleside Hospice and Nelson Market for Guide Dogs (formerly Guide Dogs for the Blind).

The grottos are kindly supported by Nelson Town Council and Colne Town Council.
