Come and make a festive wreath in Nelson’s Victoria Park

Published Monday 5th December 11

The Friends of Victoria Park invite you to join them in a festive wreath making workshop.

On Saturday 10th December they will be making wreaths from greenery found in Victoria Park itself.

Aimed at adults, the workshop will run in the park's pavilion from 10am to 12 noon.

There's a charge of just £5 per wreath to cover the materials used, and refreshments will be provided.

Carole Devlin, Chair of the Friends of Victoria Park, said:

"The wreaths we'll be making are around 8 inches in diameter, perfect for hanging on your front door this Christmas.

"Someone from the local college with many years' experience in horticulture will be offering expert advice on how to make a traditional Christmas wreath.

"We'll have plenty of ribbons and decorations for you to add a personal touch to your wreath too."

The workshop has been organised by the Friends of Victoria Park in conjunction with Pendle Council's Parks department.

Councillor Jonathan Eyre, who represents parks in Pendle, said:

"The Friends of Victoria Park organise some excellent events and workshops. I hope this one is as well supported as others they have run recently.

"With Christmas not long off now, it offers a chance to make a wreath to trim up your home ready for the festive season."
