Published Tuesday 18th October 11
There are lots of exciting events happening in Pendle this Hallowe'en from a Spooky Affair in Victoria Park to a sponsored walk up Pendle Hill.
Pendle is warming up for lots of exciting events this Hallowe'en.
"People flock to the area because of our associations with the Pendle Witches, said Councillor Jonathan Eyre, who leads on tourism.
"We're gearing up to the 400th anniversary of their trial in 2012.
"But come for an early preview because the area is very atmospheric at this time of year," he added.
"We have plenty to see and do", explains Mike Williams from Pendle Council's Tourism Team.
"People come from far and wide to follow our Pendle Witches Trail by car, bike or minibus.
"It takes you to the places in the true story of the 1612 trial through an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty from Pendle through the Trough of Bowland to Lancaster Castle.
"If you like to get out and enjoy our beautiful countryside get a copy of our 7 mile Walking with Witches Trail which covers the story of the Pendle Witches," he added.
The guides are available via our tourism website http://www.visitpendle.com/ or by visiting our award winning Discover Pendle Tourist Information Centre at Boundary Mill Colne.
