Come and get spooked in Victoria Park!

Published Tuesday 18th October 11

The Friends of Victoria Park invite you and your family to join them in a Spooky Affair in the park this half term.

The Friends are teaming up with Pendle Council and the Beacon Children's Centre to run two events for children from pre-school age up.

For just £1, each child can have some fun with a range of Hallowe'en craft activities.

Carole Devlin, Chair of the Friends of Victoria Park, said:

"Children of all ages can come along and start getting ready for Hallowe'en.

"They can have a go at making witches' hats and lanterns, among other spooky things!

"Staff from the Beacon Centre will also be showing children how to turn egg boxes into scary spiders!"

The Spooky Affair runs twice during the October half term holiday - on Monday 24th October from 2pm until 4pm, and on Thursday 27th October from 10am to 12pm.

The craft activities will take place in the Victoria Park pavilion by the car park just off Carr Road.

There will also be a tuck shop on site with crisps and drinks available.

Councillor Jonathan Eyre, Executive Member for Parks and Leisure, said:

"This is a wonderful family event which I'm sure will attract people from across Pendle to the Park.

"My thanks go to the Friends of Victoria Park for their hard work in organising and running it."
