Tourism awards: will the Pendle five win?

Pendle is up for five awards at the Lancashire and Blackpool Tourism Awards 2011/12 this week.
Those shortlisted include Pendle Council's own entry of the hugely successful Walking Festival for the Marketing Campaign of the Year award.
The other shortlisted candidates are:
- Dam Head Barn, Nelson for B and B of the Year
- Thornton Hall Farm Country Park, Thornton-in-Craven for Small Visitor Attraction of the Year
- Ye Old Sparrowhawk Inn, Fence for the Taste Lancashire Award
- Discover Pendle Centre at Boundary Mill for Visitor Information Provider.
"Having five shortlisted entrants for Pendle when over 170 organisations have entered shows the high quality of tourism businesses we have here," said Mike Williams, the Council's Tourism Officer.
"Pendle can be justly proud and I hope we come back with some trophies on Thursday," he added.

The award ceremony is being held at Blackpool Pleasure Beach this Thursday, 22 September 2011.
