Thanks to everyone who came to Nelson town centre on Saturday, 20th August, to celebrate the opening of the new town centre and 'launch' the Nelson Shuttle.
Councillor Mike Blomeley, Leader of Pendle Council, said:
"It was a great day, one that will be remembered for years to come.
"Plenty of local folk turned out to enjoy it. Judging from the feedback we've had so far, they certainly did.
"I'm not sure Nelson town centre has seen a trio of old ladies dancing in formation on souped-up shopping trollies before - but what a wonderful spectacle. That was definitely a highlight for me!"
Other highlights of the day included Walk The Plank's colourful art car parade, a chopper dash and musical performances and poetry readings.

The Mayor of Pendle, Councillor Nadeem Ahmed, performed the official opening of the event.
And BBC broadcaster Tony Livesey kissed The Shuttle to mark a new beginning for Nelson, while celebrating its mill heritage.
Brian Cookson added:
"We now have a town centre of which we can all be very proud.
The redevelopments were made possible thanks to funding from the North West Regional Development Agency and European Regional Development Fund.
"This money could have gone to other towns or cities in the North West and to other countries in Europe , but we made a good case and won it for Nelson.
"The new town centre layout, with amphitheatre and tree-lined boulevards marks the start of new chapter in Nelson's history.
"Let's all now talk up the town - after Saturday we've certainly got plenty to talk about!"
