Hop on board! STAN the van to visit Nelson’s Morrisons this Monday

If you're in Nelson next Monday (15th August), look out for STAN, the bright yellow customer services van.

He'll be positioned in the Morrisons' car park, near to Yarnspinners Health Centre, with experts onboard offering a wide range of help on public services and local voluntary and community organisations.

Short for 'Services To A Neighbourhood', STAN is jointly operated by Pendle, Rossendale and the Ribble Valley district councils.

Councillor Mike Blomeley, Leader of Pendle Council, said:

"If you're near Morrisons on Monday, don't forget to look out for STAN.

"Council staff will be onboard to advise you on what you're entitled to in welfare and housing benefits.

"Plus you can get information on a huge range of things including applying for council grants, volunteering, disabled adventure holidays, registering for a dentist and much more."

STAN is kitted out with a photocopier, printer and scanner.

There are private interview rooms, a hearing loop and access for wheelchair users.

And staff can even link up to the different computer systems through state-of-the-art satellite technology.
