Colne market traders are gearing up for Easter Saturday and the town’s St George’s Day festival with an egg-stra special promotion.
On Saturday 23rd April all customers who buy something from Colne market will be given a plastic egg, inside which will be a clue to their prize.
Every customer will be a winner, and prizes range from a handful of chocolate eggs to the top prize of a 32" LCD television.
Second prize is a £50 voucher to spend in Colne market, and third prize is a large chocolate Easter bunny.
"It's our way of saying thank you to our loyal customers," said Ian Varley, Markets Manager.
The Colne Market promotion supports the St George's Day festival being held in the town from 1pm.
Ian added: "We're expecting a lot of visitors to the town on St George's Day and are keen for them to come into the market and see what our stallholders have to offer.
"We have a range of stalls, selling allsorts from health foods, fresh meat, fruit and vegetables, to baby clothing, bags and homemade crafts."
"For one day only the traditional street market will move from the market car park to the adjacent side street, near to Altham's travel agents."
Colne town centre will certainly come alive on St George's Day with a fun event for all the family.
Until 8pm there will be bands playing a range of music including folk, pop, rock and blues on a stage alongside the market.
Headliners will be Vicky and the Big Combo, and Diva Dynamics.
There will even be some local talent performing on the stage too, in the shape of Andrea Louise and Katie Cruz.
For the children there will be a variety of children's rides, face painting and free donkey rides.
There's even a George and the dragon themed costume competition - with prizes for the best medieval fancy dress at 2pm outside the library!
Mike Williams, Tourism Officer at Pendle Council, said:
"There's going to be such a buzz in the town centre on St George's Day, and we hope to attract people from further afield who want to mark their patron saint's day with a fun day out.
"There will be so much going on to keep folk of all ages entertained, and music of different styles to appeal to everyone."
The St George's Day festival has been organised by Pendle Council and funding has come from our tourism events fund.
