Win a Wii competition extended – come and meet STAN to enter

You now have until 31st May 2011 to get a chance to win a Wii games console!
Anyone who visits the travelling customer services vehicle, STAN between now and the end of May, and leaves their details, will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win the games machine.
STAN is jointly operated by the district councils in Pendle, Rossendale and Ribble Valley and is short for Services To A Neighbourhood.
The prize draw was initially running until the end of March but has been extended to May because STAN has been visiting several new locations since the start of April.
Staffed by council officers and Help Direct staff, STAN aims to take make public services more accessible.
STAN staff can assist with a variety of issues and enquiries including welfare benefit checks, new bins, housing benefit forms and single occupancy discounts.
Information can also be given on applying for council grants, volunteering, disabled adventure holidays, registering for a dentist and much more.
Angela Ansell, Principal Localities, Communities and Policy Officer, encourages residents to come along and see how STAN can help.
She said: "The staff are knowledgeable about council services and can put people in touch with local community and voluntary groups who offer support too."
STAN is fully equipped with a copier, printer and scanner and will access relevant computer systems via state of the art satellite technology.
There are private interview room facilities, a hearing loop and access for wheelchair users.
STAN will be in Pendle on the following dates:

Colne - Asda car park, Corporation Street - Tuesday 3rd May
Nelson - B&Q car park, Churchill Way - Wednesday 11th May
Brierfield - Brierfield Health centre car park, Thursday 12th May
Nelson - Reedley Primary School, Friday 13th May (morning)
Barnoldswick - Co-op car park, Rainhall Road - Monday 23rd May
Colne - Asda car park, Corporation Street - Tuesday 24th May
