Your bins will be collected over the bank holidays!
Published Tuesday 12th April 11
Refuse and recycling collections in Pendle will continue as normal over the bank holidays during April and in early May.
David Walker, Waste Services Manager, said:
"Collection teams will be working as normal during the Bank Holidays which means there will be no disruption to refuse and recycling collections for Pendle residents and businesses."
Pendle Council refuse and recycling collection crews will be working over the Easter bank holidays - Friday 22nd and Monday 25th April.
They'll also be in work on Friday 29th April, the day of the Royal Wedding, and on the May Day bank holiday, Monday 2nd May.
Commercial waste collections will take place as normal over the bank holidays.
Pendle residents should put their bins out as normal, before 7.30am on their collection day.
They are reminded to only put out their brown recycling bins if they are half full or more.
Carole Taylor, Waste and Recycling Co-ordinator, said:
"We're trying to make the recycling vehicle rounds more efficient.
"Residents can help us to do this by only putting out their brown bins when they are half full or more.
"This means we may be able to reduce the number of recycling vehicles we have out on the roads, which will save us money and help us to reduce our carbon footprint."
