Pendle residents are invited to comment on a document that contains information on sites that have been identified as suitable for housing.
The Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) was produced in 2008.
The document is currently being updated and the Planning Policy Team is carrying out a six week public consultation on the SHLAA 2010 Update Report.
Councillor Chris Tennant, who represents Planning Policy in Pendle, said:
"We have a duty to keep our documents up to date and to consult local people along the way.
"We've recently looked again at the sites that we think are suitable for housing.
"We've used new economic viability information to reassess when these sites could be developed, and now we want people to tell us whether they think we've got these timescales right."
"The consultation also gives local people the chance to tell us if they have any other sites they think we ought to consider."
The SHLAA 2010 Update Report contains information that will help Pendle Council to develop new planning policies for housing in Pendle.
Although the Planning Police team has identified in this report some sites as being suitable for housing, it does not necessarily mean that they will be developed.
The document is available as a download at www.pendle.gov.uk/hlaa or you can view a reference copy at any library or council shop throughout Pendle.
Pendle residents can send in their comments and alternative site suggestions to ldf@pendle.gov.uk until 5pm on Friday 28th February 2011 when the consultation will close.
