Council Offices, Schools and Services
Due to this weeks ice and snow, there have been some disruptions to refuse and recycling collections across Pendle. Teams have been returning to collect any bins that were missed.
If your brown or grey bin have still not been emptied, you can report a missed collection online or by calling our contact centre on 01282 661743.
- All Pendle Council Offices will remain OPEN throughout the winter period (apart from 26th-30th December inclusive, when they will be closed for the Christmas holiday). During the holiday period you can contact us on our emergency number. Offices will be open on January 2nd 2012 as normal and customer services can be contacted via email or telephone.
- Refuse and Recycling: Pendle Council's refuse and recycling collection days may change in some areas because of severe weather. You can use the online forms to report a missed collection or make a complaint about waste and recycling collections or call 01282 661743
- Lancashire County Council provide highway, school, social services, library and gritting services in Pendle. They can be contacted on 0845 053 0011 or you can make use of their contact page to get information about the service you want. You can also visit their website to read their Winter Service Plans.
- Schools: Lancashire County Council's list of unavoidable school closures. This is kept up to date throughout the year.
- Libraries: Sometimes, severe weather can cause disruption to libraries. To keep up to date on any closures or changed opening times, check the Lancashire County Council Libraries webpages.You can also check scheduled opening times for your library during the Christmas holidays.
- Social Services: For information about disruptions to other services (such as home visitors or meals on wheels) or for general help and advice you can contact Help Direct on 0303 333 1111.
