Core Strategy: Preferred Options Report
The six week public consultation on the Core Strategy Preferred Options Report finished on Monday 12th December 2011.
Around 240 comments have been submitted as part of the consultation.
What happens next?
Council Officers will start to go through all the comments received and look at the issues that have been raised. They will consider whether these issues can be resolved by changing parts of the document. This may be through a change in the wording or explaining a point which is currently unclear. Further information is available in Framework Issue 20.
Our responses to each comment received will be set out in a report for consideration by the Council's Executive. This report will highlight any proposed changes to the document. At this time people who have made comments will be able to see how their concerns have been addressed.
We have done this at previous stages in our consultation on the Core Strategy. You can view previous comments and officer responses in the Consultation Statement.
Why is the Core Strategy so important?
The Core Strategy sets out the planning framework for the area. It contains the strategic planning policies that set out the Council's preferred approach to promoting development and growth over the next 15 years.
Planning officers in the Council's Development Management Team will use the Core Strategy on a daliy basis to help inform their decisions on planning applications.
