Development Plan Documents will set out the policies used to manage development in Pendle. As they are adopted (in phases between 2009 and 2011), DPDs will be replacing the policies currently contained in the Replacement Pendle Local Plan

Core Strategy

The Core Strategy will set out the key elements of the planning framework for the area. It will comprise a spatial vision and the strategic objectives for Pendle. The policy team have produced a short leaflet explaining what the Core Strategy is, and how it fits within the LDF.

Land Use Allocations

The Land Use Allocations DPD will identify and allocate land for specific uses (including mixed uses) where appropriate. The policy team have produced a short leaflet explaining what the Land Use Allocations DPD is, and how it fits within the LDF.

Development  Management Principles

The Development Management Principles DPD will contain a suite of specific Development Management policies. This will provide a greater level of detail to help determine planning applications received by the Council. Not yet started   November 2014 Work is due to commence in 2012
Bradley Area Action Plan (Nelson) The Masterplan for the Bradley Ward in Nelson, linked to the Housing Market Renewal (HMR) Pathfinder Scheme. This DPD is prepared by the HMR team within the Council as opposed to the Planning department however this work is an important component of the spatial development plan for the Borough. South Valley Area Action Plan (Colne) The Masterplan for the South Valley Area of Colne linked to the Housing Market Renewal (HMR) Pathfinder Scheme. This DPD is prepared by the HMR team within the Council as opposed to the Planning department however this work is an important component of the spatial development plan for the Borough.
