A blocked drain, serving only one property, would be the responsibility of the property owner and it would be up to them to engage a contractor to effect clearance of the drain.Sewers
Sewers serve two or more properties and may be either public, i.e. adopted by the relevant water company, or private, i.e. the responsibility of the owners of the properties draining into the sewer. For further clarification contact:
