Loans
There are a variety of loans available through the high street banks or credit unions, also Lancashire County Developments Limited (LCDL) offer a scheme called Rosebud. Loans are available for over £5,000, and also some micro loans, for a variety of business activities LCDL: Rosebud. Michelin Development in the UK offers unsecured loans to small and medium sized enterprises up to 250 employees (SMEs) from £5,000 at Bank of England base. Rural grants
Rural businesses may be eligible to receive support through the Rural Development Programme for England . This is aimed at helping businesses diversify into non-agricultural activities and also business development & start-up across rural locations. NWDA Finance
The NWDA provide some useful links to business finance products. Including their own products of; Grants for Research and Development (which now includes additional support for carbon reduction technologies), and capital investment projects, as well as loan and equity finance to start-up and grow your business. Business Rates
Small business rate relief - this is a rate relief scheme available to help small businesses who do not receive any of the other rate reliefs. Only properties with a rateable value under £15,000 can be considered for the relief. The relief will be calculated at a flat rate of 50% for eligible properties with rateable values below £5000. Over £5000 the amount of relief will reduce on a sliding scale of 1% for every £100 up to £9999. Finance for renewable energy
If you are a small to medium sized business based in Lancashire , you can apply for a grant to meet up to 50% of the costs of installing renewable energy generation equipment. See the Lancashire County Developments Limited website for more information.
