Welcome to Pendle Partnership
A new and innovative approach to Partnership working
The role of Pendle Partnership changed in July 2011.
In these challenging times we have to be even more focussed on what we can do to improve the lives of our residents.
Because of the changing landscape which has led to a reduction in finances, resources and capacity, the Partnership has had to evolve.
And at the AGM on July 5th 2011 the changes were agreed.
So what does that mean?
- Pendle Council's resources for the Partnership have been greatly slimmed down after its restructure so partners need to take responsibility and ownership of actions.
- A new Pendle Partnership Executive has been created. The Executive is responsible for the Sustainable Community Strategy, agreeing the big issues and overseeing performance and progress. It will meet three times a year.
- A Partnership Forum (community and partner celebration event) will be held every year.
- Work will be done through a task and finish based approach called Pendle Solution Groups. Volume of meetings will be agreed by individual Solution Groups.
- Children's Trust, Community Safety Partnership and Vision Board will continue as Theme Groups. People and Communities and Sustainable Places will no longer exist in the new format.
- A new Theme Group called Pendle Health Improvement Group has been created.
The Council's support will be led by Paul Hussey, Head of Policy (Chief Executive's Policy Unit) and delivered through the Localities, Communities and Policy Team.
The key priorities for the new Pendle Solution Groups in 2011/12 were agreed at the AGM. They are:
- protecting vulnerable people
- ensuring that our children and young people engage successfully in further education, employment and training on leaving school
- supporting the creation of more energy efficient and low carbon communities.
