Dog breeding licence
The Act
Establishments used for the breeding of dogs are controlled by the Breeding of Dogs Act 1973 as amended by the Breeding and Sale of Dogs (Welfare) Act 1999.
Applying for the licence

A fee of £64.90 must be paid when an application is made. The licence and any subsequent licence will expire on the 31st December of the year the licence applies to.
Further information
No person may keep a breeding establishment without first obtaining a licence from their Local Authority. Due to recent changes in the legislation we recommend that, in the first instance, you contact us on the details above.
