Trees (individuals, groups or woodland) may be protected by either a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or a Conservation Area and consent is required before any work is undertaken to them. For further information about tree protection click on the links below:

Trees and woodland in Pendle can be found on both public and private land. Those on public land could be owned by Pendle Borough Council or Lancashire County Council. Pendle Borough Council also owns a significant total area of woodland in a variety of locations most of which is available for public access.
