Parks Outreach and Park Keeper Service

Introduction

The Parks Outreach and Park Keeper Team help to increase the profile and usage of all 11 parks within the Borough of Pendle.  They undertake public consultations to identify the needs or requirements for new or the improvement of facilities within the parks.

Working with the Local Community

ParksOn a day to day basis, they work closely with the local community, Friends Groups and Schools to promote the parks for recreational and educational use.  This includes carrying out small scale environmental projects such as bulb planting or educational activities like pond dipping, moth or bat nights.  These activities provide information about nature and wildlife

 

Two women holding owlsGuided walks promote health and wellbeing and again working with the Friends Groups, fun activities such as family fun days bring families and communities together.  The aim is to provide varied, enjoyable activities that appeal to all ages and members of the public.

Byelaws

The team also work closely with the Police to enforce the byelaws (link to byelaws) and to help tackle anti-social behaviour within Pendle's parks, sports playing fields, green open spaces and children's play areas. 

Park Keeper Service

In the main the Park Keepers work at weekends and in accordance with daylight hours (link to shift pattern).
