Sports Events
The Council organise and run a small number of annual sporting events across Pendle in conjunction with local sports clubs and committees. These include:
- Pendle Youth Football Tournament
- Pendle Championship
Pendle Youth Football Tournament
*** The Pendle Youth Football Tournament was cancelled this year (2011) due to the uncertain timing of the replacement clubhouse facilities at Bullholme. We look forward to the future when we will be looking to run the football tournament again. ***
The Pendle Youth Football Tournament is an annual FA approved junior football tournament run in partnership with Barrowford Celtic Boys Club. The tournament usually takes place on the first weekend of June and is played on Bullholme Playing Fields in Barrowford and Swindon Playing Fields in Nelson.
The Tournament has 6 age categories;
- Under 9's
- Under 10's
- Under 11's
- Under 12's
- Under 13's
- Under 14's
Pendle Bowls Championship
The Pendle Bowls Championship is an annual one day event that usually takes place in September with the venue alternated between the 6 bowling clubs within Pendle. Male and female representatives from each of the bowling clubs are put forward to play in the Championship with cash prizes and trophies provided by the Council. Pendle Bowls Championship
