Parks Strategy
About The Strategy
The Borough of Pendle's Parks Strategy 2007 - 2017 was developed to strategically guide future design, provision and enhancement of Parks in Pendle.
The first Parks Strategy ceased to exist in April 2005 with Parks & Recreation Services committed to developing a new one to build on the foundations laid through the original document and to create a whole new set of priority actions to strategically guide the Council and its Parks over the next decade (2007 - 2017).
Before producing the final Strategy, a considerable amount of consultation was carried out with the local community. Amongst those we consulted with were park users, school children, Council staff, local Councillors, and general members of the public. This was to ensure that the views of a wide cross section of the public were forthcoming.
Priority actions in a variety of areas were set out to address and respond to problems identified, issues raised and challenges facing our Parks. The Strategy looks at the key issues and areas we are endeavouring to provide solutions to in areas such as Access; Dogs & Litter; Health & Well-Being; Quality & Performance Monitoring; Security & Anti-Social Behaviour; Marketing & Promotion, amongst others.
