Block Improvement Schemes
Scheme Information
A Block Improvement Scheme / Facelifting Scheme is a Council run improvement programme carried out to the exterior of blocks of houses. To enable works to be carried out, owners of properties in the block must give their consent to the work being carried out.
During the Block Improvement Scheme / Facelift, many different works can be carried out which may include:
- Re-Roofing
- Chimney works
- Sand blasting
- Pointing
- Replacement of Guttering
- Soil vent and waste pipes
- Replacement Windows
- Replacement Doors
- Works to dormers
Structural defects may also be remedied.
The Council will invite selected housing blocks to join the Block Improvement Scheme / Facelifting Scheme. Owner/occupiers will be asked to contribute £250 towards the work, and landlords £500. There is a 3 year ownership and residency condition which all owners must agree to before work can start
