Men's Health Week
Information
Men's Health Week
Between 13th and 18th June we're urging all Pendle men to take part in this year's Men's Health Week.
We're joining forces with NHS Lancashire Care Foundation Trust to encourage Pendle men to get "technical" about their health.
Supported by the Men's Health Forum, we want our residents to live longer and be healthier.
This year's Men's Health Week shows men how they can use technology to access better health.
A staggering 99% of younger men without children use the internet every day and 80% of all men in the UK have surfed the internet in the last three months.
We often find that men get more serious health conditions earlier in their life and tend to die younger than women.
Pendle men seek medical help at a later stage than women and are more likely to develop more serious forms of ill health (all ages).
Men also lead the way with "risk taking" behaviours and are generally less well informed about health than women.
Get a Man Online
Through technology and by going online, men can access services and health information much more privately.
Few men will admit to needing help but find it much less embarrassing to access it through the Internet.
