Direct Debit competition terms and conditions

  • The prize draw is open to anyone who owns or lives in a property in Pendle
  • A customer will only by eligible for the draw if they pay their council tax by Direct Debit
  • Only one application per person will be accepted
  • Entrants must be over 18 years of age
  • The draw will be made by random selection at 12pm on 5 June 2017
  • The winner will be notified by Pendle Council by email or phone within 14 days of the draw
  • Any entrant who has an unspent criminal record or anti-social behaviour order or has unpaid council tax will be ineligible and an alternative prize winner will be drawn
  • Two other names will also be drawn to create a substitute pool should the first winner not come forward or be ineligible. The two substitute winners will be first alternative winner and second alternative winner
  • If the winner does not confirm acceptance of the prize within 30 days, or if it is found that the winner is ineligible, then that winner will be considered to have forfeited the prize and Pendle Council will be entitled to contact the first alternative winner. The first alternative winner shall have 14 days from notification to confirm their acceptance of the prize by phone, letter or email. If the first alternate winner is found to be ineligible, or does not provide acceptance confirmation, the process is to be repeated in the same way until an eligible winner from the substitute pool is identified; failing which no prize will be awarded
  • The Council reserves the right to publish the name of the winner and their location
  • The personal data of all council tax payers will remain confidential and subject to the applicable data protection laws
  • The draw master’s decision is final
  • A cash equivalent is not offered
  • The Kindle will be presented to the winner boxed and unopened and will need to provide photo identification to collect their prize
  • The Kindle will be a 7” Kindle Fire 16GB
  • The name of the winner will be available in writing from Pendle Council 30 days after the prize draw
  • The prize is non-transferable
  • These rules and the operation of the prize draw are governed by the laws of England
  • The cut-off date for the prize draw is 31 May 2017
