Bespoke Ashes Section
Interment of Ashes
Pendle Borough Council recognises that in the 21st Century bereaved families are striving for more modern and varied options in order to commemorate their loved ones following cremation.
We have acknowledged that there is a growing demand for families to have a lasting memorial in memory of their loved ones, where they can visit on a regular basis to pay their respects.
Therefore, we have built new modern ashes sections within Pendle Cemeteries, with the first section now being available in
These chambers can hold up to four ashes caskets or urns and can be pre-purchased in advance.
What is Available
The chambers are purchased with burial rights which will last 99 years and therefore the memorial will be a lasting tribute to loved ones. Included in the purchase price are the burial rights, the first interment, the memorial and the permit for two inscriptions.
Please note: Lettering is completed via a memorial mason of the purchaser's choice to the specification set out by Pendle Borough Council. (A permit is required by the memorial mason and can be obtained from Parks and Recreation Services, Pendle Borough Council) Rules and Regulations Pendle Borough Council is striving for the new Ashes Sections to be modern and streamlined. To achieve this the memorials will all have the same white lettering and chrome flower containers. You will be able to place flowers within the included flower containers, along with wreaths at special times of the year.
Unauthorised decorations will be removed by the council without notice to ensure the modern and clean look is maintained. Funeral Arrangements The Bespoke Ashes Sections are multi-denominational and spaces can be reserved at any time. With prior arrangement it is possible to have a service at the time of placing the ashes in the chambers. Arrangements can be made via your funeral director or directly with Pendle Borough Council, Parks and Recreation Services.
