About the Economic Development and Tourism Unit
Further information
A comprehensive Business Support package aims to encourage investment by both local and inward moving businesses that will help them to develop a competitive edge and increase their ability to adapt quickly to market changes.
To help local people take advantage of the new job opportunities that are created the Economic Development Unit has developed a diverse range of Employment Initiatives to improve access to training that will enable them to improve their skills. In turn, these new skills help to improve the competitiveness of local businesses and help to attract new industries into Pendle.
An attractive and healthy environment plays a fundamental role in making Pendle a better place to live and work. One of the core activities of the Regeneration Unit is to encourage the improvement of the borough's Town Centres.
Tourism is a dynamic growth industry. The Economic Development and Tourism Unit is fully committed to helping Pendle exploit its full growth potential whilst at the same time protecting the area's outstanding landscape.
The combination of these initiatives helps to create a local economy that is stronger, more diverse and sustainable in the long-term.
