Waste Action Grants

What are they?

Waste Action Grants are available for projects, activities, resources or equipment that has a positive impact on waste reduction in Lancashire and Blackpool.

The grants are administered by Global Renewables, on behalf of Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Council.

Who can apply for one?

Anyone who operates within the administrative areas covered by Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Council including:

  • individuals
  • community groups
  • schools
  • youth groups
  • organisations
  • charities

that will:

  • promote and/or achieve waste reduction
  • promote and/or achieve the reuse of materials
  • increase recycling

How much can I apply for?

The grant is to fund or part fund projects in the region of £500. Additional support and guidance to develop a project idea is also available together with ongoing project management support.

When assessing applications, the following will be considered:

  • feasibility and sustainability of the project - will the project work?
  • the impact on waste i.e. waste reduction, reuse, recycling
  • wider environmental, community or social benefits i.e. positive improvements for community and the environment
