Housing Benefit Information for Landlords
Our Landlord Liaison Scheme
We work with landlords and letting agents to improve our service and standards. All of our benefit advisors can help you with general advice and information and let you know the progress of a claim when we have permission to do so. We have a Landlord Liaison Scheme for landlords and agents to ensure that we provide you with a good service and consistent information.
Our Landlord Liaison Officer can help you with more complex issues, multiple claim enquiries or any complaints that you may have.
Contact the Landlord Liaison Officer on 01282 878832.
Our Landlord Liaison Officer will communicate with you by phone, e-mail, FAX or in person.
If you wish to see the Landlord Liaison Officer in person or have a private interview we would ask that you make an appointment first to make sure that the Officer is available.
We would also ask that you always contact us before you take enforcement action against a tenant. We may be able to resolve the problem or help your tenant to get any benefit to which they may be entitled.
We also have procedures that mean we will deal with any urgent cases quickly. Please don't take action without contacting us first.
Landlord Forum
The Council is committed to working with landlords and agents to improve standards in the private sector.
Our Housing and Community Services department runs a Landlord Forum, working in partnership with landlords to improve standards in the private sector and to ensure that Pendle has a range of suitable accommodation for everyone.
All landlords and agents who operate in Pendle are welcome to attend the Forum. If you want more information, the date of the next meeting or to be included on the Forums mailing list you should contact the Housing Needs Section at Number One Market Street on 01282 661661.
The Forum will receive information and discuss topics that are of interest to landlords. Representatives from the Benefits Section attend every Forum meeting and give an update on the current workload position. We also provide information on relevant issues and any changes in procedures and legislation. We also welcome questions, comments and feedback from landlords and agents.
