Supported and Specialist Accomodation
Supported housing can be defined as:-
- Services that help vulnerable people to remain in their own homes
- Services that help vulnerable people to move out of temporaryaccommodation and into their own homes
- Services that help vulnerable people to become independent from supported housing
In order to meet the needs of vulnerable groups Pendle Council has developed a Supported Housing Strategy 2008 - 2011. The aim of the strategy is to address the specific housing needs of those people in Pendle who are vulnerable or suffer exclusion by providing quality housing and services to promote choice and independence.
The strategy has three specific objectives:-
- Developing a better understanding of unmet need
- Facilitating a multi agency response to meet that need
- Enabling an integrated and strategic approach to future need
