Nelson Shuttle Put in Place 20/7/11
The 12 metre Shuttle created by Nelson designer Dave Palmer was carefully put in position by his team who worked until 11pm last night to make sure everything went according to plan.
Local people, staff, traders and residents had lots to say about the amazing new structure, made out of the same material as the Angel of the North. Including...
Our Chief Executive Stephen Barnes says: "We're celebrating a new start for Nelson."
Local trader Peter Boast from Going Dutch says: "I think it's brilliant and contemporary. The quality of the work is fantastic."
Colne resident Anita Emmott who works in Nelson town centre at Petty's Estate Agents says: "My mum would be so proud. She worked on a Lancashire loom at Walverden Mill in Nelson."
Our Deputy Leader, Councillor Tony Beckett says: "I think it's superb."
