NOTES
1. Licence Fee
The appropriate Licence Fee should be forwarded with the application, cheques made payable to the "Borough of Pendle".
2. Inspection of Animals
Applicants are asked to note that they should be prepared to make themselves available during office hours for the purpose of inspection.
3. Ownership and Possession of Animals
The licensing authority shall not grant a Licence unless the application for it is made by a person who both owns and possesses or proposes both to own and to possess any animal concerned, except where the circumstances are in the licensing authority's opinion exceptional.
4. Licence Conditions
Subject to sub-section (6) of Section 1 of the Act, the licensing authority may, in granting a licence, specify such conditions of the Licence, as it thinks fit.
5. Insurance Policy
The insurance policy or a copy thereof should be forwarded for examination along with the application.
6. Period of Licence
Any Licence under this Act shall (according the applicants requirements) relate to the calendar year in which it is granted or to the next following year. Any Licence shall remain in force until the end of the year to which it relates and shall then expire.
