Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need a scaffolding licence?

Answer:

Any scaffold, hoarding or similar structure to be erected on the highway requires a permit.

Building works adjacent to the highway must be separated from the street by a hoarding, although the need for a hoarding can be dispensed with subject to written consent being granted by Lancashire County Council, as highway authority.

A charge will be made for the granting of such permits and consent. Please contact Lancashire County Council on 0845 053 0011 for further information or visit their website.
