Q: Why has the street lighting column outside my house been removed?
Answer:
Sometimes during an inspection visit, a column is found to be unsafe and has to be removed immediately to prevent injury to people passing by. The column will eventually be replaced by installing a new column (usually within a month) and then the electricity board will reconnect it to the underground supply (usually within three months).
