Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How will my pest problem be treated?
Treatments are carried out by trained officers using approved rodenticides. Traps are not used.
At the time of visiting the officer dealing with your request will carry out a risk assessment which will include consideration of children/pets being present. This does not normally prevent a treatment being carried out as suitable precautions will be taken in carrying out the treatment.
Rodenticides are potentially harmful to humans where ingested or where direct contact is made. However, suitable precautions will be taken in carrying out the treatment to prevent this happening. At the time of visiting the officer will leave you with information on the particular materials which have been used.
The Council will NOT give you poison to use yourself.
