Pollution FAQs

Q: What happens if I have made a complaint about pollution?

Q: Can you do anything about sandblasting?

Q: Can you do anything about traffic pollution?

Q: Can I make an anonymous complaint?

Answer:

If your complaint is about your neighbours, we are unable to accept anonymous complaints, as the law requires the Council to establish a nuisance exists for it to take action.

If your complaint refers to a wide-spread pollution issue e.g. from a factory, we can take informal action, but formal action may not be possible. This is because if formal action is to be successful, complainants may have to act as witnesses in court proceeedings.
