Licences and street trading FAQs

Q: What happens when I've made a licensing complaint/request?

Answer:

If your request is in relation to a complaint, an officer from the Council's Environmental Health Service will investigate the issue and contact you to discuss findings. To assist in the investigations the officer may contact you first to obtain more information. If the request is of a general nature, an officer will contact you as soon as possible to assist in your enquiry.

The officer who deals with your complaint/request will contact you to advise on action being taken. We aim to deal with urgent requests within one working day and non-urgent requests within five working days. This is the maximum time, and requests are normally dealt with more quickly.

You can complain anonymously, however, we prefer to take your details so we can get extra information if this is required, or so we can inform you of progress. All complainant details are kept confidential.

If required we can provide an interpreter in Urdu and Punjabi.
