Home improvements - disability facility grant for a private property
Grants are available to disabled occupants to assist with the provision of adaptations, in order to ensure that they have greater access to, and use of their homes.
To apply for a grant contact the Social Services Directorate (see below), who will arrange for an occupational therapist's assessment of the needs of the disabled person. They then put forward recommendations to the Council, who will then evaluate the reasonableness and practicality of providing the adaptations or alterations.
Eligibility
If your post-code begins BB9 or BB10 then contact the Nelson office. If your post-code begins BB8 or BB18 then contact the Colne office.
Availability
Social Services local offices are open Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
