Verges
Pendle Council's Parks department maintains highway verges in Pendle on behalf of Lancashire County Council through a Street Services Agreement.
Lancashire County Council's contribution is only sufficient to provide five cuts per year, but Pendle Council considers this to be inadequate and provides up to 10 cuts.
In rural areas, grass is cut at sight lines at junctions and on the inside of bends for safety. Weeds can be a threat to the fabric of the highway.
